Worth the Drive from Redding
Redding residents are used to driving for things that matter, and a physician-led sports recovery clinic is one of them. CT Sports Recovery is at 215 Main Street in Westport, roughly 25 to 30 minutes south on Route 53 and Route 57, and we are proud to sponsor Joel Barlow Falcons athletics, the Region 9 program that serves Redding and Easton.
What makes the trip worthwhile is what you will not find closer to home: board-certified physiatry and osteopathic physicians who diagnose the actual source of pain, plus focused shockwave therapy, PRP and regenerative treatments, red light therapy and EMTT magnet therapy in a single office. Physician visits are billed to insurance, and no referral is required.
Who We Help in Redding
- Joel Barlow Falcons and John Read Middle School athletes with sprains, strains, overuse injuries, stress reactions and concussion symptoms.
- Trail runners and hikers at Huntington State Park, Topstone Park and the Redding Land Trust preserves with ankle sprains, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis and knee pain.
- Mountain bikers with wrist, shoulder, neck and low-back pain, and the collarbone and AC joint injuries that come with the sport.
- Georgetown and West Redding residents who commute by Route 7 or the Danbury branch and have desk-related neck and back pain.
- Equestrians with low-back, SI joint and hip pain from riding and barn work.
- Adults with chronic joint, tendon or spine pain who want a non-surgical, physician-led plan.

Getting to Our Westport Office from Redding
From Redding Center, take Route 53 south through Weston, then Route 57 (Weston Road) south into Westport, where it becomes Main Street; 215 Main Street is on the right before the Post Road. From Georgetown, Route 7 south to Route 33 south is often quicker. Plan on 25 to 30 minutes. Park in the rear lot and use the rear entrance; the office is the first door on the left.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with extended hours on Tuesdays (varies by provider). Call or text (203) 651-5090 or book online.
Frequently Asked Questions from Redding Patients
Is it worth driving from Redding instead of seeing someone closer?
If you want a physician-led, non-surgical diagnosis and access to focused shockwave, PRP, EMTT and osteopathic manipulation in one place, usually yes. We also combine treatments in a visit when it is clinically appropriate so you make fewer trips.
Do you treat trail-running and mountain-biking injuries?
Yes. Ankle sprains, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, wrist and shoulder injuries and the neck and low-back strain that come with technical terrain are all common in our practice.
Do you accept insurance?
Physician visits and covered treatments are billed to insurance, with no referral required. Some advanced therapies are self-pay, and we review costs before anything begins.
Can you see a Joel Barlow athlete after a game-day injury?
Same-week appointments are usually available, and Tuesday extended hours work well for after-practice visits. Book online or call (203) 651-5090.
What is the fastest route from Redding?
Route 53 south through Weston to Route 57 south is the most direct for central Redding. From Georgetown, Route 7 to Route 33 south is often faster. Both take about 25 to 30 minutes.
