A Real Diagnosis for Fairfield's Active Community
CT Sports Recovery is a physician-led sports recovery and non-surgical pain relief clinic at 215 Main Street in Westport, serving patients throughout Fairfield, Connecticut. Our team includes a board-certified physiatrist and two osteopathic physicians who diagnose the actual source of your pain and build a plan around it, combining hands-on osteopathic manipulation with focused shockwave therapy, PRP and regenerative options, red light therapy and EMTT magnet therapy under one roof. Your physician evaluation is billed to insurance, no referral is required, and same-week appointments are the norm.
Fairfield is one of the most active towns in Connecticut. Between two public high schools, Fairfield Prep, two universities and a half marathon that fills the Post Road every June, there is no shortage of people here pushing their bodies hard. We are the specialists they call when rest has not worked and surgery feels like too big a leap.
Who We Help in Fairfield
- High school athletes at Fairfield Ludlowe, Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Prep with sprains, strains, overuse injuries, tendonitis or concussion symptoms that are not resolving on their own.
- College and club-sport athletes at Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University who need a fast, accurate diagnosis and a clear return-to-play plan.
- Runners training for the Fairfield Half Marathon, Sound-side 5Ks and the trails at Lake Mohegan who are fighting plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, IT band pain or shin splints.
- Southport and Greenfield Hill commuters whose neck, shoulder and low-back pain traces back to the train, the desk and the screen.
- Golfers, tennis and paddle players whose elbow, shoulder or hip pain is cutting the season short.
- Adults with chronic back, neck or sciatic pain who have been told their only options are injections, surgery or a lifetime of medication.
Conditions We Treat
Every condition below starts with a physician evaluation, not a pre-set protocol. If imaging or a specialist referral is warranted, we will say so.
- Back, neck and sciatica pain, including herniated discs and posture-driven pain
- Sports injuries: sprains, strains, tendonitis and return-to-play recovery
- Joint and tendon pain in the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow and heel
- Desk work and posture pain from long hours at a screen
- Concussion evaluation and physician-guided recovery
- Postpartum stress urinary incontinence and bladder leaks
Treatments Available to Fairfield Patients
- Osteopathic Manipulation (OMT): hands-on physician treatment that restores mobility and relieves pain at the source.
- Focused Shockwave Therapy: breaks up stubborn tendon and soft-tissue pain and stimulates healing with no downtime.
- PRP and regenerative treatments: physician-administered options that support tissue repair.
- Red Light Therapy: reduces inflammation and supports tissue recovery at the cellular level.
- EMTT Magnet Therapy: electromagnetic stimulation that calms acute and chronic pain.
- Dry Needling and Stretch Therapy: releases tight muscles and restores range of motion.
- Infrared Therapy: deep heat that boosts circulation and loosens stiff muscles and joints.
- Peptide and Hormone Optimization: physician-supervised programs for recovery, energy and performance (18+).
Why Fairfield Patients Choose a Non-Surgical, Physician-Led Clinic
Fairfield has excellent orthopedic surgeons, and when you need one we will tell you honestly. Most sports injuries and chronic pain, though, do not need an operation. They need an accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan that addresses the cause instead of masking the symptom.
- Physician-led care: your evaluation and plan come from a board-certified DO or MD, not a technician following a script.
- Insurance accepted for covered physician visits, with no referral needed.
- Same-week appointments, so a nagging injury does not become a season-ending one.
- Advanced technology most Fairfield-area clinics do not have, including focused shockwave and EMTT, all in one location.
- A medication-free, non-surgical philosophy backed by a team that will refer out the moment it is the right call.

Frequently Asked Questions from Fairfield Patients
Do I need a referral to be seen at CT Sports Recovery?
No. Fairfield patients can book directly online or by phone. Your initial physician evaluation is billed to insurance, and no referral from a primary care doctor is required.
Is this different from seeing a chiropractor or physical therapist in Fairfield?
Yes. Care here is led by licensed physicians (DOs and an MD) who can diagnose your condition, order imaging when it is needed, perform osteopathic manipulation and administer treatments like focused shockwave and PRP. We coordinate with physical therapists and other providers when that is the right next step.
What is covered by insurance and what is out of pocket?
Your physician visits and covered treatments are billed to insurance. Some advanced therapies, such as focused shockwave, red light therapy and peptide programs, are typically self-pay. We explain costs before you commit to anything.
My child plays for Ludlowe, Warde or Prep. Can you handle a concussion and return-to-play clearance?
Yes. Our physicians provide concussion evaluation and a guided recovery plan designed to get student-athletes back to school and sport safely.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Same-week appointments are usually available. Book online or call (203) 651-5090 to pick a time that works.
