Built for the Way Darien Competes
Few towns in Connecticut play harder than Darien. Blue Wave football, lacrosse and hockey set the standard, youth programs start early and run year-round, and the adults are just as competitive on the courts, the water and the road. That intensity produces a predictable set of problems: overuse injuries in multi-sport kids, tendon and joint pain in adults who refuse to slow down, and concussions that need a physician's eye.
CT Sports Recovery is a physician-led sports recovery and non-surgical pain relief clinic at 215 Main Street in Westport, about 15 minutes from Darien via I-95 or the Post Road. Our board-certified physiatrist and osteopathic physicians diagnose the real source of the problem and treat it with hands-on osteopathic manipulation, focused shockwave therapy, PRP and regenerative treatments, red light therapy and EMTT magnet therapy. Physician visits are billed to insurance, and no referral is required.

Regenerative & Recovery Treatments for Darien Patients
Darien patients tend to ask for the most advanced non-surgical options available. All of the following are physician-performed or physician-supervised in our Westport office.
- Focused Shockwave Therapy: targeted acoustic energy for chronic tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis and soft-tissue injuries, with no downtime.
- PRP and regenerative treatments: physician-administered options that support tissue repair in tendons and joints.
- Osteopathic Manipulation (OMT): hands-on physician treatment for the spine, hips, shoulders and ribs.
- EMTT Magnet Therapy and Red Light Therapy to reduce inflammation and support recovery between competitions.
- Dry Needling and Stretch Therapy for tight hips, hamstrings and shoulders.
- Infrared Therapy for stiffness and circulation.
- Peptide and Hormone Optimization: physician-supervised programs for adult patients focused on recovery, energy and performance (18+).
Why Darien Athletes and Families Choose CT Sports Recovery
- Physician-led from the first visit: a board-certified DO or MD evaluates you, not a technician.
- Insurance accepted for covered physician visits, with no referral required.
- Same-week appointments, so a mid-season injury gets a diagnosis before the next game.
- Focused shockwave, PRP, EMTT and red light therapy in one office, which few practices between Greenwich and Fairfield can match.
- A non-surgical, medication-free philosophy with honest referrals to surgeons and specialists when that is the right call.
- Experience with the performance-minded patient: athletes, coaches and parents who want a plan, not a platitude.
Getting to Our Westport Office from Darien
From Darien or Noroton, take I-95 North to Exit 17 (Saugatuck Avenue / Route 33), head toward downtown Westport and turn onto Main Street; the trip is about 15 minutes. The Post Road (US-1) east through Norwalk is a good alternative when I-95 is backed up. We are at 215 Main Street, Suite 4. Park in the rear lot and use the rear entrance; the office is the first door on the left.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with extended hours on Tuesdays (varies by provider). Call or text (203) 651-5090 or book online.
Frequently Asked Questions from Darien Patients
Do you offer PRP for Darien patients, and what does it treat?
Yes. PRP and other regenerative treatments are physician-administered and used for tendon and joint problems that have not responded to conservative care. Whether PRP is the right option for you is determined at your physician evaluation.
Can you evaluate a concussion from a hockey or lacrosse game and manage return to play?
Yes. Our physicians evaluate concussions and guide recovery with a stepwise plan for school and sport. We coordinate with athletic trainers and coaches when helpful.
What is covered by insurance?
Physician visits and covered treatments are billed to insurance, with no referral needed. Advanced therapies such as focused shockwave, PRP, red light and peptide programs are typically self-pay, and we review costs before you decide.
How is focused shockwave different from the shockwave offered at some physical therapy clinics?
Most clinics offer radial shockwave, which spreads energy near the surface. Focused shockwave delivers energy to a precise depth, which allows treatment of deeper tendon and soft-tissue problems. Our physicians determine which approach, if any, fits your condition.
How long is the drive from Darien?
About 15 minutes via I-95 North to Exit 17, or the Post Road east through Norwalk. Free parking is in the rear lot.
